Meet Team Brookside

Dr. Zingsheim-Nadeau (affectionately referred to as Dr. Z) was born and raised in Lansing, Michigan. She earned her veterinary degree in 2013 from Michigan State University.

Dr. Margo Skrzypek is a recent graduate of Ross Veterinary School in St.Kitts, who supplemented her clinical year at rotations through the Portland Humane Society, the National Primate Center in Oregon, and our own Brookside Veterinary Hospital!

Jaclyn graduated from the University of Glasgow Veterinary School in 2016 and moved to Washington shortly afterward to begin her veterinary career. Originally from the Philadelphia area, she enjoys being a part of strengthening the human-animal bond.

Although a West Virginia native, the Pacific Northwest started calling to Dr. Lisa Woods-Zabari while she was still in veterinary school at Ohio State University. She spent most of her summers working in Western Washington until she graduated in 1990.

Sarah was born and raised here in western Washington. She began training her 4H dogs at age 9 and working in vet hospitals at age 14. In 2003 she discovered and fell in love with emergency medicine, becoming a licensed technician in 2010.

Jessica was born in Fort Lewis, WA and traveled the world as an army brat until her father retired and settled in northeast Georgia. She joined the Navy and traveled a little more before leaving the Navy and deciding to make roots in her home state of Washington.

Alex was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest in Washington state. Ever since they were young, they wanted to work in the veterinary field. They started at Brookside in the summer of 2018 and fell in love with both the work and the environment created at the hospital.

Rebecca grew up in Seabeck Washington. She studied at Pierce College at Fort Steilacoom in Tacoma where she received her degree in veterinary technology. Since that time, she has  worked in Kitsap, Jefferson and Pierce counties trying to help all the pets that she can.

Dru is a transplant to the Kitsap Peninsula, having lived previously in Utah, Hawaii, and California. He adopted his first pet at the ripe old age of 28, and shortly thereafter decided to return to school and start a new life as a veterinary technician.

Born and raised in Port Orchard, Cassie loves everything outdoors including camping, riding quads and dirt bikes, bonfires, and road trips. Cassie has four fur babies; Courtney the bull rott, Jake from State Farm the khaki pit, Leo the lion, and Chanel (Queen of the House).

Born in Alaska and raised in Chimacum, Marandan’s passion for animals was clear from day one. She began riding horses at age 6, and would even ask strangers if she could walk their dog while waiting for her older brother’s little league game to wrap up.

Deena was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. She has always had an interest in medicine and a passion for animals. So why not combine them? Newly certified from PIMA, Deena has been at Brookside May 2024, where she completed her externship and passion of them all.

Pami was born and raised in Gig Harbor, Washington, but did spend a couple years in Oregon before she moved back here in January of 2025. Since she was little, it's been a dream of hers to work with animals.

Sydney was born and raised in Utah and has lived in Washington since 2016. She has been in vet med since 2021 with experience in ER, general practice, and physical therapy medicine. Sydney enjoys reading, painting, exploring the outdoors, and is passionate about helping others.

Michael (also answers to Mike) was born and raised in Ida, Michigan. He earned a Bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University in Fisheries and Wildlife Management.
